Cuisinart vs. Hamilton Beach Ice cream Makers

Hi there, folks. When looking for a ice cream maker, you will be faced with many different criteria for choosing one. From the size you need to the price, maybe even the brand name.

You may have even asked a few friends for their opinions on ice cream makers. Maybe you have gone to that HUGE online store, Amazon. Whilst there, the sheer amount of different ice cream machines can literally give you a headache.

Two of the popular choices on the ice cream maker market are Cuisinart and Hamilton Beach. Both companies have a prestigious history of creating durable, functional and practical products that people have come to know and love. They both produce similar ice cream makers, i.e. the popular freezer bowl model. Whilst the style is basically the same, each model has a few things that make it stand out in its category.

Personally, I love both brands, but for different reasons.

Cuisinart vs. Hamilton Beach – The Big Difference

The most obvious difference is the price points. The Hamilton Beach models are, on average, cheaper than the Cuisinart models. However they are both really popular brands as can be seen from Amazon customer reviews.

So what is the main difference between them? Let us compare 2 models of each company.

The Most Popular Hamilton Beach Ice Cream Machine Models

The Hamilton Beach 68320 1-1/2-Quart Capacity Ice Cream Maker is a popular and inexpensive  model available from the company. Due to its price and the capacity it produces, it is the most comparably priced ice cream machine to similar Cuisinart models.

This is a popular model on Amazon.com with reviewers. Many like its cute looks. Many like the cool colours it comes in. It produces creamy ice cream in a short time. However, the level of noise produced by the motor when in operation, lets it down slightly. It is understandable due to the position of the motor at the top of the machine. What it has in looks, ease of use and clean up, it is slightly let down by the loud noise the motor makes.

Another popular Hamilton Beach model is the Hamilton Beach 68330R 4-Quart Automatic Ice-Cream Maker which is a rock salt and ice style of ice cream maker. While it is popular on Amazon.com, due to its large size, short production time and ease of use, we wont elaborate much here as we are talking about freezer bowl models.

The Most Popular Cuisinart ice cream maker models

The Cuisinart  ICE-21 Frozen Yogurt-Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker, is a close contender for the ‘most popular ice cream machine  in the world’ category. The many reviews of this machine over on Amazon, shows Cuisinart is dong something right.

As the successor to the also popular Cuisinart ICE-20 Frozen Yogurt-Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker,  this ice cream maker combines looks, ease of use and a reasonable price. It is a no-frills machine that comes in 9 really cool colours.

Lets’ now  move on to the most popular ice cream maker; the Cuisinart ICE-30BC Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Frozen Yogurt, Sorbet Maker. First off, the name ‘Pure Indulgence’ should give you a clue. This Cuisinart is dead easy to set up, use and clean up.

It is  unique due to the fact that in this model, the whole bowl spins ensuring proper churning of the dessert. Customers on Amazon rave about this. And I agree with them. The Cuisinart ICE 30 has many pluses and you can read more here.

Cuisinart  vs. Hamilton Beach – So Which is Best?

Based on popularity at the worlds largest online market and the ratings there, the Cuisinart models seem to come out tops. In the end, it all boils down to exactly what you are looking for in an ice cream maker. Is it size? Ease of use? Aesthetics? Ease of cleaning up?

All these ice cream makers address these issues in one way or the other, you simply have to choose which best fits your needs. You really cant go wrong with any one of them.
